Santa's Joffre Lakes Pictures 2005

If you are driving between Whistler/Pemberton and Lillooet, make
certain you stop here - and if its a side trip it's still well worth the
effort to see this beautiful area. Joffre Lakes are located about half
way between Lillooet Lake and Duffy Lake. Lillooet Lake is near
Pemberton, not Lillooet.

Joffre Lakes is a nice little series of three lakes with a short hike to
get to all of them. They are fed by a glacier and are very pristine,
with cold clear water. They are quite beautiful and with very easy
access. The lower Lake is a short half-kilometer hike and is very
well worth it even if you have no interest in going further. Middle
Lake is a short 4 kilometer hike, about a half hour hike past Lower
Lake if you are reasonably fit, and slightly uphill. Upper Lake is
just another 1.5 kilometers past middle lake.
